A man’s role in his family, based on scripture, is primarily to lead as the head of His family, being responsible for both it’s spiritual and material needs (Eph. 5:23; Gen. 2:15; 3:16b-19). 

If he is married, then he is also responsible for loving his wife (Eph. 5:25,33), and if a father for training his children in Christ (Deut. 6:6-25;

Prov. 22:6; Eph. 6:4). 

As an individual, he is responsible for his walk with Christ and for serving the church as per his giftings.
