As per the Great Commission (Mt. 28:19,20), we at Hope view discipleship as a process, first of being made into a disciple (converting to Christ) and then of being taught to obey (following the commands of Christ).

The ‘making’ is done by the Holy Spirit as we participate with Him in the conversion process, sharing our testimony of what Christ has done for us as exampled in how He changed us.

The ‘following’ comes as others are first taught Christ’s commands, and then are walked along with in the process of learning how to apply those commands in ways that change them into the image of Christ Himself.

At Hope, discipleship will be intentional, thorough, reproducible and consistent over time.
